NATOrious: $150/a month ‘Rent-a-Taliban policy fail shows colonial ignorance’

As the war of words between NATO and Pakistan rages on, Islamabad announced that the recent closure of NATO supply routes to Afghanistan, via its territory, will now be permanent. The already strained relationship was thrown into chaos after a U.S. airstrike targeted a known army base – killing 24 soldiers, close to the Pakistan border. The incident triggered massive rallies throughout the country, elevating anti-American sentiment to new levels. This comes as a new NATO strategy came to light – paying Taliban fighters 150 dollars a month to stop them fighting.
